Weber State University (WSU) - Automotive Technology Department - Transmission Lab. General Motors Hydra-Matic 6L80 / 6L90 6-Speed Automatic Transmission Power flow. This tansmission is typically used in 2007 and newer Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro, Cadillac CTS-V and Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks and SUVs with gasoline engines. This transmission uses a simple planetary gear set to drive a dual planetary gear set (with a common planet carrier and internal gears) to achieve six forward gears and reverse.
